A note from LillyWhen it came to
that difficult time in our 43 years of married life together, to find a new
home for my spouse for assisted living, I found the most wonderful home,
Autumn Oaks in Slinger, Wisconsin.
He passed away one year later, but it truly was his home. I
actually became jealous of his receiving such loving care. Autumn Oaks
has a caring, patient love from the heart.
As for the staff, every time I would visit my spouse (3 to 4 time a
week) the care-givers greeted me with a cheery hello and a hug.
But Autumn Oaks offers much much more. It is a home that gives
their residents spiritual guidance, communion every Sunday, and services
every week for residents of all faiths.
The activities are a pleasure for the residents. Exercise
programs every morning, baking or crafts, painting in spring, trips via
handicap van or bus and lots of bingo. On weekends the residents can
chose from movies musicians coming in, or just having a quiet sleepy
day.
My spouse was at home there and all the residents and staff helped him
to die peacefully.
